It is quick and simple for people that don't care to speak to someone in person.It was fun ,if you have the time to sit and IM for awhile. Reference IMing would be nice,as long as a seperate librarian was available for that job.A librarian who does mutiple tasks at the ref desk would fined this a little difficult to do.
